The Hoyle state is an excited, spinless, resonant state of carbon-12. It is produced via the triple-alpha process, and was predicted to exist by Fred Hoyle in 1954.
The existence of the Hoyle state is essential for the nucleosynthesis of carbon in helium-burning red giant stars, and predicts an amount of carbon production in a stellar environment which matches observations.

We're just trying to share cool, interesting, and creepy shit for people with like-minds. We are not trying to get as many views as possible so we can sell ad space, or make money in any way for that matter, the only ads you will see are the ones from hosting sites like YouTube and even then they're only ones that we can't remove because we don't even monetize our YouTube videos. The amount of ads online is getting ridiculous and greed is ruining creativity and originality, like regurgitating the same trending mainstream bullshit or giving great reviews to shitty movies trying to get a higher ranking in searches, etc... Also, any time you see a shortened link from us - for example: http://j.mp/HorrorMagazine is only used because the normal link: https://flipboard.com/@erebusanonymous/insainment-horror-bjs8tq7ay is just a lot longer and harder to remember - it's never one of those adfly clicks-for-pay pop-up redirect clickbait annoying wtf-just-happened bullshit links, we will never do that.
